We’re not born to survive in water, perhaps this is what draws us to sea sports; the playing field is one which represents an element of unknown risk. The risk of the sea paired with the enjoyment of a sport which gets your blood pumping and your brain whirring is a heady mix of fun and fear.
Our beautiful coastline offers sea sports a plenty, we’d recommend getting involved in as many as you can.

Kudhva is part of the Work Away Scheme (https://www.workaway.info) and we’re always keen to hear from people who are interested in helping us manage this land.
We’ve worked with volunteers from all over the world who have helped shape Kudhva into what you see today.

What does ecology mean at Kudhva? It means we respect our surroundings, it means we want to be a sustainable site which doesn’t drain energy sources, it means we want to give back to nature.
We plan to run land management courses and pop up events which teach others about the importance of caring for our environment, land management skills, sustainability and off-grid living.

We have our very own reservoir nestled in the depths of the Kudhva site, an untouched haven of tranquility, hidden from view.
If you ask Louise nicely, she will also take you for a guided tour/swim and maybe even show you the waterfall.
Exercise and fitness are empowering, they give us energy and help us maintain a healthy body and mind.
Here at Kudhva we see the rough terrain and mix of landscapes as natures gym; scrambling, running and swimming.
If you are keen to spend your visit at Kudhva exploring the land as a means to health and fitness, we can highly recommend Emma Woodcock, a local personal trainer. Get in touch with her to book a one to one session or group activity at Kudhva.
Yoga has the power to restore our body and soul, as does nature, time away from busy lives and time in the fresh air, all things which Kudhva provides. We encourage guests to bring their mats and lap up the space and fresh air as you enjoy your daily practice.
Flat areas on slate and in the reception – just ask your host, she will hand draw you a map so that you can find a practice spot. (DEN OF ZEN) pranna yarma.

Kudhva offers a bounty of wild food and botanicals. Delicious wild strawberries, gorse flowers which raise you endorphin levels making you happy, spotted orchids, cotton grass, honeysuckle, king ferns, wood violets and water mint perfect for cocktails.

In a world polluted by light, it’s not often we get to truly star gaze. Placed at the top of a valley, with little light surrounding us and very little being created by us, Kudhva offers a vast expanse of uninterrupted sky.
Star gazing is the ultimate digital detox it forces us to stop, to be still and quiet, it encourages us to be calm. We highly recommend finding a spot outside, or curling up next to the window of the Kudhva and spending some time with the stars.
Talks and Lectures
We are inspired by other people who make and do.
We want to use Kudhva as more than a campsite, we want to educate and inspire as we have been by others. We will host year round events, talks and lectures to teach people of all ages and backgrounds.
Keep an eye on the website for info about up and coming events/lectures and talks.
Architecture Summer School
Kudhva allowed us to experiment, it let us step outside the box, it encouraged us to create something we didn’t know was possible. As designers and makers we revelled in that and we’d like to give that opportunity to others.
We’re planning to offer exclusive off-grid summer schools for up and coming architects, designers and students. With top class lecturers, workshops and creative interventions set in a sublime location. Watch this space for more info about our future plans.
Located just 1 mile inland from Trebarwith Strand, we’re almost directly on the South West Coast Path. Whether you’re attempting the whole path or just dipping into bits here and there, Kudhva is the perfect base for you to explore from.
For the adventurous cyclist Kudhva bears gifts galore. As an inherently mountainous land Kudhva is prime for mountain bikers, with natural jumps and tracks occurring amidst the trees and between the slate.
Cycling has long drawn people to Cornwall with trails tracing the length and breadth of the county. From Kudhva as a base you can easily access the North Cornwall Trail and the Camel Trail, so as a stop gap after a busy day of cycling Kudhva is a great spot.
The climbing locations along the North Cornish coast are beautiful and dramatic, with stretches suitable for complete beginners through to expert climbers. The Kudhva site itself has rock formations, sheer faces and slate piles, although not formally offered as activities; guests are welcome to explore but must take responsibility for their own safety.
With a coastline stretching for over 250 miles Cornwall has no shortage of fantastic beaches and coves, over 150 to put a number on it. These range from secluded, barely accessible rocky coves to huge expanses of golden sand on the Atlantic coast.
